Mumbai City FC marquee player and ex-Manchester United star Diego Forlan, in an exclusive chat with NDTV, gave his backing to the Indian Super League (ISL), stating that the tournament will help in the development of Indian footballers. "This tournament is bringing in foreign players, and the Indian players are getting better (as a result). I think it's going to be good for Indian players," Forlan said. Delhi Dynamos' star Florent Malouda, who won the 2012 Champions League title with Chelsea, also expressed confidence on the future of ISL, saying it will develop a 'culture of football' in India.
