Two weeks after the controversial comments by the now-suspended BJP spokesperson, Nupur Sharma, on Prophet Muhammad, violence continues to be reported across the states of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. 237 arrests have been made and 13 police cases have been registered in UP. In Bengal, section 144 has been imposed, the internet snapped and the police fired tear gas shells to maintain calm.
