Twelve people have died as floods and heavy rainfall ravaged Sangli district in the west of Maharashtra state. Over 20,000 people are marooned in the villages of Shirgaon, Navakher, Bhuleshwar, Wadi, Kanegaon and other areas cut off by floodwaters.
