Should legislators facing serious charges be disqualified?

One of the key recommendations of the Justice Verma Committee is to clean up politics for achieving gender justice. The panel says that if an MP or MLA is charged with a serious offence then he should be disqualified even if not convicted. Law Minister Ashwini Kumar, however, says that may not be fair.
