Politics Over Dahi Handi Curbs In Maharashtra
The BJP held protests in Mumbai demanding the reopening of temples and allowing Dahi Handi festivities in Mumbai. Dahi Handi is celebrated a day after Janmashtami. Some BJP leaders have also said they will organise Dahi Handi competitions, despite the restrictions in place. The Shiv Sena says the centre has asked states to impose localised restrictions to curb the spread of the coronavirus during the festive season. The BJP hit back, asking what about Sena protests.
