After he was criticized publically by social activists for being part of a Group of Ministers (GoM) to check corruption in the government, Sharad Pawar has quit the panel. Mr Pawar is Agriculture Minister and his Nationalist Congress Party is an important partner in the UPA coalition at the centre.
