The politics of Meghalaya does not quite match with the beauty of the place, once famous as the Scotland of the East, the state battles with instability and a regular change of government. The leaders pull a lot of crowd but their speeches don't reach far beyond them, even elections fail to throw up the key issues dragging on for decades, it's an election devoid of colour, rhetoric and any direction.
