Retired Chief Justice of India Justice JS Verma, who headed the first commission on the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, believes some of the interventions by the judiciary in recent cases, can be called "judicial overreach." Justice Verma also spoke strongly about the delay in the awarding of justice to the Gujarat riot victims and said that in cases of obstacles, he would be "happy" to see the cases transferred out.
