A first of its kind inclusive housing for individuals with special needs is taking shape in a gated community in Chennai. The joint home model initiated by the Special Child Assistance Network (SCAN) promises quality life and care to individuals with special needs even after the lifetime of their parents. 100 such families would live together with 2,000 other families in the 25 acre community. Besides disabled friendly features, the posh gated community would have care givers, therapy centre, vocational centre, kitchen and a restaurant. NDTV's Sam Daniel brings you the report.
