With the US Congress putting restrictions on hiring foreigners on H1-B visas, highly skilled Indian workers may be affected. According to the Stimulus Bill, H1 B norms have been laid out for firms receiving government money in the bailout. The reason, it is thought, cost cutting firms would outsource jobs to lower paid but highly qualified professionals, including Indians, with Americans consequently losing more jobs.
