A day after Chinese troops tried to close in on Indian positions on the South Bank of Ladakh's Pangong Lake, photos have emerged of the soldiers armed with spears and automatic rifles. This is the first direct evidence of the mass use of medieval-style weapons of war by the Chinese army. Speaking on the matter, Lieutenant General HS Panag, in an exclusive interview with NDTV, said that the PLA is trying to provoke a Galwan Valley-like incident that took place on June 15. The defence analyst also said that the Chinese may have been trying to create a deception for the Indian Army in order to pull off a counter-attack.
