Bengal News | Ex-TMC MP Sukhendu Sekhar Breaks Silence On Leaving TMC

Former TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray has broken his silence on why he decided to leave the party, citing what he described as repeated crimes against women and the party's handling of the RG Kar rape-murder case. Ray said he felt increasingly isolated within the Trinamool Congress after demanding an internal inquiry into the alleged role of certain police officers in the case. Speaking after resigning from both the Rajya Sabha and the party, the veteran leader alleged that sincere workers had been sidelined while corruption and criminal elements were allowed to flourish. He claimed that his concerns over the RG Kar case and broader issues of law and order marked the turning point in his relationship with the party leadership.
