Amid Iran War, US Terminates Legal Status Of Qasem Soleimani's Relatives
Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter are in the custody of US federal agents after Secretary of State Marco Rubio cancelled their lawful permanent resident status. Afshar is the niece of the late Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US strike in January 2020.
Rubio announced the action on X, stating that both of them had been living in the United States on green cards until recently.
