'3-4 Thousand People Entered At Once, Barricade Fell, Devotees Crushed: Srikakulam MLA To NDTV | Read
At least nine devotees were killed and several others injured in a stampede at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kashibugga, Andhra Pradesh, this morning. According to Srikakulam MLA Gouthu Sireesha, the incident occurred when a sudden rush of 3,000–4,000 devotees entered through both the entrance and exit points, causing a barricade to collapse. As the structure gave way, devotees fell on each other, leading to the tragic stampede. Rescue operations and relief efforts are currently underway.
