Fearing a dent in its urban vote bank over the 2G controversy, the DMK patriarch, Karunanidhi, has decided to give up on Chennai and, instead, will now contest the Assembly polls from his home town Tiruvarur. There is seat hopping in the rival camp as well. Jayalalithaa will now contest from Srirangam.
