Five years after the Narada sting operation hit the headlines, three senior Trinamool leaders and a former minister in the Mamata Banerjee government, who has since quit the party, were arrested by the CBI in Kolkata today. Two others named in the scam have since joined the BJP but there has been no action against them. They are Suvendu Adhikari and Mukul Roy. Monideepa Banerjee spoke to Mathew Samuel, the journalist who conducted the sting operation in 2014 and released the tapes in 2016, who has questioned the selective arrests.
