The finance minsiter has approved the Rajiv Gandhi Equity Scheme, which was first announced in the budget. As part of this scheme, investors can invest through MFs to avail the benefits of the scheme. According to Sanjiv Shah, Co-CEO, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, the move will benefit the Mutual fund sector and also help deepen the penetration of equity-linked schemes.
