A 26-year-old man accused of operating an Instagram account that posted videos and photographs of women in Bengaluru without their consent was arrested following a woman's viral Instagram post. The account in question had been posting video clips featuring women walking in public spaces, often appearing unaware or startled when the camera was pointed at them. Why is it so easy to film and humiliate women online – and get away with it, until someone complains? Why are platforms not proactive in flagging and taking down such content? And more importantly, why do so many people continue to watch, comment, and share, instead of reporting?
