On November 20th, the new Nitish Kumar government will take oath at Patna's Gandhi Maidan. However, in the interim, the opposition in the state appears to be imploding in a very loud and visible manner. Both the Congress and the RJD have met over the past two days to brainstorm after their election defeat. But what solutions have emerged? Is there soul-searching or analysis? Is there a roadmap for the next step or the next election? The Congress, which held a meeting over the weekend to analyse their loss, reached the same conclusions: that the election was rigged, that a 90% success rate for the BJP is suspicious, that Rs 10,000 acted as a bribe for women voters, and that the voters of Bihar are to blame for not supporting a strong opposition.
