Paris Heatwave | France Bakes Under Record Heat As Europe Faces 'Omega' Heatwave

France is baking under one of the most intense heatwaves in its history. Temperatures in Paris have climbed to a record 40.9 degrees Celsius for June, while much of the country has crossed the 40-degree mark as Europe swelters under what meteorologists are calling the 'Omega' heatwave. It's fuelled by what's called an "Omega block" a stubborn weather pattern where a dome of high pressure becomes locked in place over western Europe. It traps hot air over land mass.
