Panic Buying Hits Bangladesh Fuel Stations As Supply Concerns Trigger Rush

Panic has gripped Bangladesh, with people rushing to petrol pumps to buy fuel. The country has over 2,000 petrol pumps supplying petrol, diesel, and octane. Reports suggest that the supply of petrol and octane has been disrupted across many of these outlets. Two-wheeler and car owners are stuck in kilometer-long queues to refuel their vehicles. Petrol pump owners say the situation is spiraling out of control and are urging the government to intervene. Meanwhile, the government maintains that there is “no fuel shortage” at present. To manage the situation, the government has deployed a designated officer at each fuel station to monitor and report real-time ground conditions.
