Pakistan PM Shehbaz Warns India, Says Diverting Water Would Be 'Act Of War'
The India-Pakistan dispute over the Indus waters has intensified after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warned that any attempt to stop, impede or divert Pakistan's share of the waters would be treated as an "act of war." Sharif also said the Indus Waters Treaty remains valid and that water must not be weaponised. His remarks came amid the continuing dispute over India's decision to hold the treaty in abeyance and a recent arbitration ruling that said the treaty remains in force.
