Now, Maharashtra battles flood
Maharashtra is also battling floods caused by overflowing rivers. Nashik is the worst affected. Around 400 people have been evacuated due to heavy rain. The Godavari river is flowing above the danger mark and there are reports of people being stranded. It is one of the worst floods Maharashtra has witnessed in 40 years. While the Godavari River has been overflowing, water levels in dams in and around Nashik has also increased to alarming levels.
