Home Minister Amit Shah today said Assam and the north-east marched ahead in the path of peace and development during the last eight years of the BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Seventy years of Congress pushed the north-east to violence and anarchy while during the last eight years, PM Modi's leadership helped the region join with the mainstream, Mr Shah said after inaugurating the party's new office in Assam's Guwahati.
