Nifty Hits 18-Month Low, Ends 1.6% Lower; Broader Market Takes A Beating
Indian equity benchmarks opened slightly in the red on Thursday. Sensex dropped 150 points while Nifty fell 70 points at the open. However, markets plunged further as the day progressed. By 2:50 pm, Sensex was down 1,120 points while Nifty fell 387 points. At the close, Sensex fell 1,045 points while Nifty dropped 371 points.
