Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has resigned after landing in Singapore since he fled the island nation on Tuesday. People in the capital Colombo burst firecrackers in celebration on hearing he has resigned. The rupee ended Thursday on the brink of 80 per dollar, just a technicality of a touch lower at 79.99 against the greenback keeping it away from the key psychological level. Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama on Thursday embarked on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, marking his first official tour outside his base in Dharamshala since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Use of terms like 'jumlajeevi', 'baal buddhi', 'Covid spreader' and 'Snoopgate' and even commonly used words like 'ashamed', 'abused, 'betrayed', 'corrupt', 'drama', 'hypocrisy' and 'incompetent' will henceforth be considered unparliamentary in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, according to a new booklet by the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
