Retail Inflation Dips, But Still Above RBI's Comfort Band And Other Top Stories

Retail inflation, based on the consumer price index (CPI), stood at 7.01 per cent in June, above Reserve Bank of India's (RBI's) tolerance limit for the sixth straight month, government data showed on Tuesday. The inflation number was at 7.04 per cent in May; Uddhav Thackeray today announced that the Shiv Sena led by him will support Droupadi Murmu, the BJP-led NDA's candidate in the Presidential polls on July 18; The economic crisis which is the worst in Sri Lanka's history has prompted an acute shortage of essential items like fuel.
