In one of the only two seats held by the Congress in West Bengal, the Malda South seat is set for a three cornered electoral battle. This sensitive seat on the India-Bangladesh border was at the heart of the CAA controversy in Bengal. Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Malda South seat, Isha Khan Chaudhury on Monday expressed confidence that the public's support will lead to a Congress victory in both South and North Malda in the upcoming elections. Malda South Lok Sabha constituency consists of seven assembly segments Manikcha, English Bazar, Mothabar, Sujapur, Baishnab Nagar, Farakka, and Samserganj. Malda South will vote on May 7 in the third phase.
