While hearing the petition of a husband to quash an FIR that his wife has filed against him for domestic violence, the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court suggested that couples should get pre-marital clinical examinations conducted to avoid impotency and sexually transmitted diseases. Referring to it as 'an avoidable human tragedy', Justice N Kirubakaran suggested that, "Governments should give first preference to tackling this kine of human problems".
