The central and Assam governments will sign a peace deal with the pro-talk faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom, or ULFA, and the pact will be signed on Friday, government sources told NDTV. This is being seen as a major success for the Modi government in resolving the decades-old insurgency issue in the northeast. NDTV's Ratnadip Choudhury speaks to noted journalist Rajeev Bhattacharyya, who has written two books on ULFA, to understand what this new peace deal means for Assam.
