Dinesh Sharma, the Mayor of Lucknow, says the mandate for him and other state leaders from Prime Minister Narendra Modi was simple - win a majority in Uttar Pradesh. Mr Sharma, who had charge of the BJP's membership drive in India, is said to be one of the front runners to be UP chief minister after the party's gigantic win today. The BJP is leading in 312 of UP's 403 seats.
