Damini, the one-month-old daughter of a rickshaw puller in Rajasthan, is critically ill and has been shifted to a Jaipur hospital. The baby is malnourished, weighs only 1.4 kg and has a blood infection. Doctors say she could need a transfusion. Her mother died five days after she was born and Damini has spent the last month strapped to her father's chest as he earned a living.
