Have our systems failed baby Damini?
Born to a weak and anaemic mother who died five days after her birth, baby Damini had a low birthweight baby at just two kilos. Deprived of her mother's care, her weight has dipped to 1.4 kilos, but it is not just baby Damini alone, studies have shown that there is a direct link between maternal mortality and infant mortality, and even today Rajasthan scores badly on both fronts.
