The BJP said it "can't do anything alone" shortly after Nitish Kumar told his party MLAs about his intention to split Bihar's ruling alliance. The Janata Dal (United) leader, upset for long with the BJP, later submitted his resignation to the Governor around 4 pm. He is set to form a new government with support from the Rashtriya Janata Dal led by Tejashwi Yadav.
