Shruti Sharma, an Kita Agarwal and Dominy Singla have secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranks respectively in the civil services examinations. The results were announced by the Union Public Service Commission, or UPS. Anka Tagore Wall who secured the second rank joins us on the programme. Tell us a little about yourself. Many congratulations, of course. But what did you study before this? How long have you been wanting to join the civil services? Tell us a little about your journey for others of born and raised in Kolkata. I did my higher higher education. Something's chickens polished. Alan will stay where I graduated with the in economics. I started the parents additional services in 2018 and I was also been in evidence of his persons in central at size in my first after my first event and can see and training in the or right. So? So you have clearly taken the examination before and you know, the system already in an out. So you know, this was your second shot at eight. So any tapes that you'd like to share with potential as aspirants, what do you believe was the key to your success? The number of hours you put in. How did you plan going about it the second time round? I think I would just say two things. One is one should be really clear about. Why is it that they want to get into the services? And if one has motivation, then it helps to stick with the process because it's a long process. It takes at least two years for should be direct, knew about vices that want to do in such that motivate us through the process. Second, whatever plan Munchen's this for themselves, it should be sustained. Mine I am in my clan was in terms of macro planning. It was this to a study as hard as I cloned whilst in giving time to myself, my health and my friends. And we can say that this the gist of it. So I tried to fit in as many as study as possible while still putting time for myself. As I said so they Iike I would not be able to give you a number, but I think of depending on the time of the year, it's a boat from anywhere between 8 to 12 hours. Secondly, I put a lot of focus on making my own notes. I prepared my notes on my computer so that they know easily at it will appear to organise for digitally that really helped. That is something that I did made my note of, unlike a Butoh, make sure that my notes for my own I studied sources, but I translated it in my own land. Let's put it in my own words, which makes it very easy to revise. I'm yes, I and I think I also chose options object, political science, international relations, which is made to me. And it kept me interested in know entire process. It has any sustained. The preparation through the actually chose a new subject in order to be to keep yourself interested. That's very interesting to know. But you know, the fact that they have been three all the top three ranks this year are occupied by women. You're in at number two, the Shruti at number one and Garma number three. What do you feel about that? Do believe women and actually better at taking examinations? Is this a wonderful new trends that we're going to see where will see a lot more women officers coming up your thoughts. So as someone who's been part of this process and as a citizen of his country, it's a matter of great pride and honour to be to see that the top three days is have been back by women. I can say two things here. One is just because three women have come in at the top this year. That that does not mean women have extra special quality just means that more women are getting the opportunity and mean See women move frequency at the talk. And second women awesome have a a lot more desire to prove themselves because society holds them up in certain standards.
