Truckers' strike enters 3rd day

As the nationwide truckers' strike enters day 3, Minister of Surface Transport and Shipping T R Baalu appealed to the transporters to call off their strike and go for a settlement. He was addressing media persons in Chennai. The All India Motor Transport Congress represents 60 lakh truck owners and operators and had called for an indefinite strike since Monday, seeking lower diesel prices and withdrawal of service tax on truckers.
