Veteran Congress leader Sheila Dikshit, who served three terms as the Chief Minister of Delhi between 1998 and 2013, died today at the age of 81 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Ms Dikshit, who also served as Governor of Kerala, was credited with transforming Delhi's infrastructure, improving public transport and helping it become a less polluted city with the introduction of CNG-powered low-floor buses. She led a revamp of Delhi ahead of the 2010 Commonwealth Games, constructing new roads and flyovers, expanding metro service and modernising the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
