Mandya, the district with seven seats and dominated by Vokkaligas, has always been JDS's stronghold. The BJP is looking to make inroads into the region. Independent MP Sumalatha Ambareesh, who has been campaigning for BJP, says JDS Stands to lose this time and the BJP will be a gainer. "Now, people are looking for change. Right time for BJP to strike," she said, adding the contest is between the BJP and the Congress and termed other parties "marginal players".
