At least 53 people, including seven soldiers, have died in the Sikkim flash floods. A glacial lake burst triggered flash floods and released water from Chungthang Dam, drastically increasing the water level of the Teesta River on Wednesday morning, causing widespread devastation in the Himalayan state. NDTV visited the Dikchu Dam, the approach road to which has been washed away. A control room at the top of the dam has also been damaged. Saurabh Gupta reports.
