The image of an elderly man running as a policeman came at him with a stick during farmer protests went viral after it was tweeted by several Congress leaders and the BJP questioned whether he was really beaten. The BJP's social media chief Amit Malviya's fact-checking tweet discrediting Rahul Gandhi was called out by Twitter as "manipulated media", a first in India.
