Voting is happening at a brisk pace in rural Bihar, where 33.1 per cent of the electorate had cast its ballot by 1 PM. In Rohtas district's Chenari constituency, women came out in good numbers to vote. My country, Bihar, I should progress, said Khushbu Kumari, who had come to vote with her sister, mother and grandmother. "We should get what we want. I want to study and get into teaching," she said. However, the women were almost dismissive of the jobs promise, but said they believe in it because getting jobs is their right. Sale of alcohol also continues in Bihar, they said, adding that their only solace was men "don't do it in open anymore".
