In an emotional yet assertive speech by arrested journalist Siddique Kappan's daughter, Menaz Kappan, said a common man's freedom should not be snatched away. In a video widely circulated on social media, Menaz could be seen speaking at a school's Independence Day function. Her father Siddique Kappan was arrested in 2020 while he was on his way to Hathras in UP to report on the gang rape of a woman.
