"The damage in Mumbai will be lesser than anticipated," Jatin Singh, Founder and Managing Director of Skymet, tell NDTV. "The system has moved very fast. It has crossed almost a 100 kms away from Mumbai. The fear was that it was very close to Mumbai and if the eye is very close to Mumbai, the potential damage will also be very high," he said, adding that in Mumbai, the wind speeds went up to 70 kmph and they are dying down. "Mahim, on the coast, has recorded only 13 mm rain over 6 hours. This is much lower than expected. The next three hours are important to monitor any damage that may be caused by the tail of the storm. We need to hold our breaths and watch out till around 6 pm," Mr Singh said.
