The Rajasthan government has formed a three-member team to investigate and audit deaths in the second wave of the pandemic amid reports that Covid deaths were being under reported in the state. Since the pandemic began, the official death count is 8,113 but what's worrying is that more than 5,000 of these deaths took place in just in two months alone: between April and May. Since 31% of these deaths and 40% cases are from rural areas, the government admits it's possible that many people may have died even before accessing health care or being tested for the virus.
