Tamil Nadu Yet To See Covid Peak, Says Top Official

Tamil Nadu has recorded an all-time high of 36,184 Covid cases even after a total lockdown for nearly two weeks. However, Chennai 's daily tally which crossed 7,500 on May 12 dropped to 5,913. Authorities call this as the beginning of the decline. Chief Minister MK Stalin will take a decision on extending the lockdown after consultation with experts and political parties. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to the state Health Secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan on the trend, rising mortality, concerns, challenges and vaccination.
