The West Bengal unit of the Congress on Sunday called off seat-sharing talks with the Left for the Lok Sabha polls, after weeks of hectic negotiations failed to resolve a stalemate over distribution of seats, a senior leader of the party said. The move makes West Bengal the latest addition to the list of states where the Congress failed to seal a seat-sharing deal with other opposition parties to take on the BJP. West Bengal votes in seven phases for the Lok Sabha elections starting April 11.
