Students at University of Madras on Monday staged a protest on their Marina campus in Chennai demanding repeal of the new citizenship law, calling it "discriminatory" against Muslims and Sri Lankan Tamil refugees settled in Tamil Nadu for more than thirty years. The youngsters call the law "unconstitutional" and a threat to the secular fabric of the country. Many say that the protest will intensify on Tuesday mounting pressure on the centre.
