Students in Bengaluru expressed solidarity with students at Jamia Milia University and Aligarh Muslim University. The protestors were not allowed on the steps of the Town Hall itself - a usual protest point - but were stopped with barricades a short distance away. A water cannon was also at the spot - between the protesters and the Town Hall building. But the protest was peaceful with students talking about their right to express themselves and the need to guard against dividing the country on religious lines.
