After the gathering of an Islamic sect Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi in March emerged as a super spreader event for COVID-19, there have been fake videos and anti-Muslim posts on social media. It has now caught the attention of several prominent citizens in the Middle East. On Sunday, the 57-member Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) criticised what it called "growing Islamophobia" in India. "Discrimination is against our moral fabric and the rule of law, Indian nationals in the UAE should always remember this," says India's envoy to the UAE after the backlash over communal tweets. Princess Hend Al Qassimi says this is very "unlike Indians and these people do not represent the India she knows".
