Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan was sentenced to three years in jail today by a Uttar Pradesh court that held him guilty of hate speech targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in 2019. Khan was granted bail and a week to appeal the sentence. With PKD Nambiar and Sharat Pradhan, we debate and discuss what this might mean for the party and whether the BJP was out to get Khan with the long list of cases imposed on him among other things.
